Chris Jericho Reveals What Drug Use Is Like In Wrestling Today

For years the wrestling business was a cesspool of drugs. Look at the list of wrestlers from the 80s and 90s dying young for all the evidence you will need. However, in recent years, the business has taken a positive turn.

Chris Jericho has had a career long enough to be able to witness the locker rooms of ECW, WCW, and WWF during the Attitude Era, a prime example of drug use in wrestling. During his appearance on Keepin It 100 with Konnan, Jericho discussed drug use in today’s wrestling. Here is the quote, courtesy of Wrestling Inc.:

“Now, it’s you know, weed and alcohol. There’s really no pills, there’s really no drugs.”

Jericho also spoke about the environment in AEW and how Tony Khan takes care of talent after shows.

“There’s food after every show for the entire crew. Half the time, there’s alcohol as well, so it’s almost like there’s an after party after every show, but the reason for that is the Khan family have a sports background. The McMahon family is a wrestling background. In sports, you take care of your athletes and you make sure they’re fed. You make sure they have a place to stay. In WWE, you don’t. You find your own food, you rent your own hotel, you get your own rental car, and have at it.”

Chris Jericho and Konnan recently took part in a skit on AEW Dynamite. In the skit, the Inner Circle took a trip to Las Vegas where they met up with Konnan. While it happened off-screen, it was heavily implied that the group smoked weed with Konnan.
