Chris Jericho Teases World With Another Countdown Clock

Chris Jericho Teases World With Another Countdown Clock

Chris Jericho’s at it again. Always one for surprises, hype and riddles, Jericho has seemingly continued his antics on Twitter.

The nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion seems to be teasing the world again with a countdown clock. The slightly older fans among us may remember he arrived in WWE with a similar countdown for weeks up until his debut. This time, however, Jericho’s graphic designer, Twitter user 97Abdulmalik, posted a new countdown as a GIF on January 1. The clock has been running ever since, with AbdulMalik posting an updated countdown today.

The countdown is set to expire on February 1. The GIF itself contains flashing words, such as “we’re here,” “justice,” and “empowerment.” The meaning of the clock is unknown, but there is speculation going around that this could be related to an official announcement of some description, possibly pertaining to All Elite Wrestling.

Chris Jericho is one of the wrestling industry’s biggest free agents at the moment, so pledging his allegiance to the new promotion would make complete sense. His close relation to AEW is clear to see, since Jericho attended a Minnesota Vikings football game on Sunday which he shared on Instagram. In the post, he thanked AEW financial backer, and co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tony Khan, for providing him with tickets:

On top of this, Jericho has already worked with AEW’s Vice Presidents, Cody and The Young Bucks, on his appearance at All In in September, with whom he has a clearly solid working relationship. On top of that, he has worked previously with a name strongly linked to the company, that being current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega.

Because there is no other word pertaining to the meaning of the posts, all the world can do is wait for the clock’s time to run out.

What do you think Chris Jericho’s new countdown clock means for him and his future in wrestling? Let us know in the comments, on Twitter, or on Discord.
