Ring of Honor World Champion and leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society Chris Jericho is not usually one for being humble.
In a recent post, however, Jericho shared a throwback image of his first-ever wrestling match thanking those who have helped him on his journey to the top.
Next to a picture of his younger self with his trademark blond hair, Jericho included a snap of the match card from his first match 32 years ago.
Dated October 2, 1990, Jericho is listed in a spot against Lance Storm with a 15-minute time-limit.
The two trained together and went on to form a tag team partnership in Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion as the Thrillseekers.
Storm and Chris Jericho have both had prolific careers, appearing in ECW, WCW and of course WWE.
Lance Storm has since retired from in-ring activity, and worked as a producer for WWE until he was furloughed in April 2020 due to cutbacks attributed to the pandemic. Since February 2022, Storm has been a producer for Impact Wrestling.
Both have come a long way since that match in Ponoka, AB32 years ago that earned the pair $30 each.
Chris Jericho is the current Ring of Honor champion, having won the title from Claudio Castagnoli during the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite.
He recently revived his Lionheart persona from early in his career in matches against Blackpool Combat Club members Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
On the latest edition of Dynamite on September 28, Jericho and Danielson continued their competition for Daniel Garcia’s loyalty.
Following the JAS championship celebration of Jericho’s title win, Garcia revolted against the so-called Wizard, and a tag-team match has been scheduled for the Dynamite anniversary show on October 5 where Garcia will team up with Danielson to face Jericho and Sammy Guevara.
