Chris Jericho Says Tony Khan Was ‘So Mad’ At Him After Controversial AEW Debut AEW

AEW’s Chris Jericho has revealed that Tony Khan was mad at him following the TV debut of Matt Hardy.

Matt first appeared for AEW on the March 18 edition of Dynamite, standing in a high tier of seats in the empty Daily’s Place arena. On the following episode, Matt made his entrance to confront Jericho by ‘teleporting’ from seat to seat until he reached the ringside area.

On Talk is Jericho, Chris Jericho recalled the AEW President’s negative reaction to the segments, noting:

“Tony was so mad at me. That was the one thing that we were able to squeak through the goalposts of the supernatural wrestling. Afterwards, he was like, ‘I never should have allowed that’.”

Tony Khan had previously admitted that he was never a fan of the segment, which was initially pitched by Jericho.

Jericho teased a new entrance theme during a dark segment on Wednesday’s (June 1) edition of Dynamite. You can listen to audio from the segment right here.
