Chris Sabin Reflects On Motor City Machine Guns’ Journey To WWE After SmackDown Debut WWE

Chris Sabin reflects on his and Alex Shelley’s journey to WWE following the Motor City Machine Guns’ SmackDown debut last night (October 18).

On last night’s SmackDown, Columbia, SC witnessed the long-awaited WWE debut of the Motor City Machine Guns following months of reports and speculation regarding their futures.

After initially being set to face Los Garza in a traditional tag team contest, opportunity knocked and the Motor City Machine Guns were instead placed into a three-way tag contest featuring Los Garza and former WWE Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under.

Shelley and Sabin emerged victorious in the bout, setting up a first-time match with DIY to determine the new number one contender’s for Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa’s WWE Tag Team Titles.

Although both Shelley and Sabin would be interviewed by following their win, Sabin himself would take to Twitter to further comment, reflecting on the Motor City Machine Guns officially becoming WWE superstars after almost two decades as a team.

Sabin wrote:

MCMG are WWE Superstars.

The journey started in 2006 with many highs and lows along the way. From being struggling tag team artists working to prove ourselves to inspiring and innovating an entire generation of tag team wrestling, everything has led to this.

Thank you.

Unlike Shelley, who made three appearances on NXT in 2020, SmackDown was Sabin’s very first WWE bout, coming 23 years after he made his in-ring debut.
