On tonight’s (July 6) edition of AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage appeared alongside Luchasaurus to address the crowd in Rochester, New York and was joined by Matt Hardy.
Matt Hardy appeared, noting that Christian Cage was “like the Michael Jordan of being an ass***e.” and noted that Jungle Boy didn’t deserve what happened to him at the hands of Cage.
Cage retorted that suddenly Hardy was “buddy-buddy with Jungle Boy?” and followed up with, “you’re starting to make your brother sound like the sober one.”
In a spicy back and forth promo, Christian accused Hardy of being a “clout chaser,” saying that Matt uses everyone around him for attention, including “turning a blind eye to your brother and his issues just so you can ride his coattails for one last run.”
Luchasaurus went on to assault Matt Hardy at Cage’s behest, driving him through a table while Cage told Hardy, “Congratulations, your name is in the headlines.”
Elsewhere on the show, Jon Moxley faced Brody King for the Interim AEW World Championship and a new tag-team debuts in ThunderStorm (Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm) taking on the formidable opponents of Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir, and a new champion was crowned.
