Christopher Daniels Says There’s No Timetable For AEW In-Ring Return

Christopher Daniels has opened up about his in-ring future, stating that there isn’t a timetable for his AEW return.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Daniels stated that he is preparing for a call from Tony Khan, noting that he’s unsure when that will happen.

Hopeful that he will wrestle for AEW again, Daniels said:

“The landscape with AEW is in constant flux; additions, subtractions, it’s just a crowded field right now but hopefully, I can make my way back there. There is no real timetable as to when that might be so I’m sort of at the mercy of circumstance.

“I feel excited to try and be ready to wrestle. It all depends on the situation. I’m readying myself for these Independent shows and I’m also readying myself to get the call from Tony (Khan) like, ‘Hey here’s what we want to do when you come back.’ I’m in a difficult position at this point because I’m sort of unsure what the future holds for me.

“A lot of it is just me being prepared and trying to get as good as I can get at this age and still trying to be relevant. It’s a tough lane to stay in, for me.”

The AEW Head of Talent Relations noted that he’s on the road every week, whether he’s coaching, performing backstage duties, or honoring indie bookings.

Daniels hasn’t wrestled for AEW since he and Frankie Kazarian lost to The Young Bucks on the May 12 edition of Dynamite. His most recent match was against AEW’s Malakai Black at last month’s WrestleFest XXVI event.

The former AEW Tag Team Champion notably wrestled Jay White during December’s NJPW STRONG Nemesis tapings. Following White’s AEW debut on Dynamite, NJPW has provided more insight on the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion’s future in the US promotion.
