Clarification On If Samoa Joe Is Set For A WWE Babyface Turn

Last night on Raw, Roman Reigns narrowly avoided being hit by a car in yet another assault at the hands of a mystery attacker. However, what got fans talking were the actions of Samoa Joe during the segment.

After the assault on Roman, Joe approached the car and checked if he was okay, he also called for paramedics to assess Roman. This lead to many speculating that Joe could be in line for a big babyface turn after years of seemingly doing very little as a heel.

Raw also seemingly confirmed who Roman’s mystery attacker was. As has been reported since the first attack last week on Smackdown, Daniel Bryan is set to be unveiled as the man targetting Reigns.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that the plan is NOT to turn Samoa Joe babyface, but simply to have Daniel Bryan depicted as the ultimate heel.

Meltzer says that the plan is to have Bryan portrayed as such a despicable heel, that even other heels want to distance themselves from him.

“So the idea now is that Daniel Bryan is now such a heel of such proportions that even the other heels don’t want anything to do with him. The idea is that even the heels are appalled at what is happening.”

With SummerSlam taking place in just five days, it is likely that Bryan will be revealed as Roman’s attacker tonight on Smackdown Live, setting up a match at the upcoming pay-per-view between the two former WWE Champions.
