Clarification On Road Dogg’s WWE Performance Center Position

Just after WrestleMania 35, one of the newest members of the WWE Hall of Fame in Road Dogg stepped down from his position on Smackdown’s writing team after several reported clashes with Vince McMahon.

However it was noted that he had not fully left the company, and backstage higher-ups were working on finding a new role for him, with even a role in commentary position being discussed.

News emerged just over a month ago now stating that the D-Generation X member is working full-time with NXT. However, official role was not known at the time, but it was believed he’d be working on the creative team.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Road Dogg’s current role at the Performance Center is to teach character development.

During his appearance on the WWE 2019 Performance Center Combine, Road Dogg said how he never really excelled in the ring, but was able to succeed thanks to his skills on the mic. He said this is something he wants to teach the younger generation of wrestlers in WWE’s developmental.
