Clarification has emerged on if any talent contracts were included in Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH.
When ROH announced its hiatus in October, it was reported that talents were set to be released from their contracts in early 2022. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that talents who had deals beyond January 1, 2022 would be getting paid until March 31, 2022.
Despite some getting paid, it appears that every former ROH name is no longer under an official contract with the promotion. Per latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan acquired no wrestler contracts in his purchase of ROH.
ROH Original World Champion Jonathan Gresham was notably backstage for a recent episode of Dynamite, but is currently working as a free agent. In a recent interview, Gresham discussed plans for his future with ROH (before learning of Khan’s acquisition), which you can read about right here.
An update on Khan’s plans for ROH has emerged, which you can check out at this link.
