William Regal left AEW last year, with him being written off the show after he helped MJF capture the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear in November.
Regal returned to WWE in order to train his son, Charlie Dempsey, as well as take on a new role as WWE’s Vice Presidet of Global Talent Development.
Regal has been backstage at Raw and SmackDown events since his return, but there has now been more clarification on what exactly Regal’s new role entails.
Per PWInsider, Regal is at every Raw and SmackDow taping since his return, where he watches and takes notes on every match from the taping.
As well as watching the matches, Regal also meets with the talents after the tapings to provide advice on ways that they can improve their matches by making them look ‘stronger’ and ‘more realistic’ from an in-ring perspective.
The notes include suggestions on how the talent can improve their selling, physicality during locking up and reversals, etc.
PWInsider has been told that Regal is giving advice on how to improve the finer points of the matches, in order for everyone to look stronger i the ring.
Regal’s son, Dempsey, recently aligned with Drew Gulak on NXT television.
