AEW World Champion CM Punk has addressed his promo on last week’s Dynamite.
On the August 17 edition of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk cut a promo with comments directed at Hangman Page that were later revealed to be off-script jabs.
He later went on to have some zingers directed at Jon Moxley who he is currently feuding with over the AEW World Championship.
In a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the AEW star discussed his comments from last week’s show.
When asked about his promo, Punk answered:
“That’s what I’m here to do, make people want to see what happens next. I’m trying to sell tickets to the live events. That goes back to me saying Twitter isn’t [the] real world. Twitter is a bunch of people that don’t really care about your opinion. They want to find like-minded opinions that share their worldview. I’m trying to tell stories, sell tickets, and get people to tune in on Dynamite.”
CM Punk will face Jon Moxley to determine the AEW Undisputed World Champion on the August 24 episode of Dynamite from Cleveland, Ohio.
