More details have emerged on the announcement that footage from CM Punk and Jack Perry’s All In 2023 altercation will soon be shown on AEW TV.

As announced on Saturday’s (April 6) edition of Collision, AEW EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will “present backstage footage from All In and will discuss for the first time” on Wednesday’s (April 10) Dynamite episode.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer took to Twitter following the announcement to report that footage from the CM Punk/Jack Perry altercation will be shown, and that the segment won’t be a bait-and-switch or just the Young Bucks trolling.

When Meltzer was asked if this would include footage of CM Punk and AEW President Tony Khan’s confrontation, he tweeted:

“From what I’m told that footage won’t be shown. Different times only the Perry footage.”

Fightful Select also reports that AEW sources they spoke with are expecting the genuine footage from the CM Punk/Jack Perry altercation to air, with it reiterated to Fightful that the company wouldn’t “falsely promote something, much less like that.”

CM Punk was notably fired “with cause” from AEW following reports about a backstage altercation between him and Jack Perry at the August 2023 All In London event.

Punk, who has since returned to WWE, commented on the situation surrounding his AEW departure on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour podcast. You can read Punk’s comments about the All In altercation right here.

During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the plan for the real footage to be aired with Bryan Alvarez.

After Alvarez stated that Tony Khan was “very upset” following CM Punk’s interview with Ariel Helwani, Meltzer said:

“After Punk did the interview I obviously contacted many, many people in the company and the general thing was ‘we’re moving past that, we don’t want to deal with it’. ‘Some of it’s true, some of it’s not true, but whatever, we gotta move forward’.

“But Tony’s the boss and Tony never said that. I will presume this is airing because there’s proof that what Punk said wasn’t true.”
