CM Punk has revealed which AEW star nearly made him “burst into tears” backstage ahead of his big debut at Rampage on August 20.
Speaking on the Angi Taylor Show, Punk actually pointed out a comment made to him by Thunder Rosa that nearly made him break before the big moment.
CM Punk said:
“I’m going to call out Thunder Rosa. I was a nervous wreck the whole time and I’m pacing the hallways. I can’t sit still, I can’t watch a monitor, can’t talk to people. I’m running around and then I’m waiting to go out, waiting for my music to hit and she just looks at me and goes, ‘Hey, welcome back’ and I almost just burst into tears. I was just like, you son-of-a-bitch, I just want to punch you right in the chest. She got me pretty good with that one. I dont think that was her intention, but man, she got me.”
During the same interview, Punk was probed regarding any potential surprises we could see at All Out on Sunday, to which he replied:
“The only thing I’ll say is that you should not miss this pay-per-view. You should purchase it now and watch it on Sunday and just be a fan and enjoy yourself.”
The show will play host to Punk’s first official pro-wrestling match in over seven-and-a-half years as he takes on Darby Allin.
