CM Punk Blasts Matt Cardona For Poking Fun At Sasha Banks & Naomi WWE Walk Out AEW/IMPACT

AEW star CM Punk has fired back at Matt Cardona for appearing to mock Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on Mondays (May 16) WWE Raw taping.

WWE has shared an official statement confirming that the two stars left the arena during the broadcast, after leaving their Women’s Tag Team Championship belts with John Laurinaitis.

Reports have since stated that had been unhappy with the direction of the WWE women’s tag division.

The former ‘Zack Ryder’ took to Twitter to recall a 2012 angle in which Kane pushed him off the Raw stage, noting:

“If I could go back in time…the night I was pushed off the stage in a wheelchair on Raw, I should have walked into Johnny Ace’s office…placed my neck brace on the table and walked out because I wasn’t being respected enough as Internet Champion.”

Focusing on what he believes is important, CM Punk replied:

“If you’d go back in time to stand up for yourself, you should stand up the workers now.”

Punk notably walked out on WWE following Royal Rumble 2014 and didn’t return to the company before his release that July. He didn’t return to the ring for seven years, wrestling his first full match following his walk-out at AEW All Out 2021, against Darby Allin.

Punk will challenge for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing on May 29. You can view the announced card for the event right here.
