CM Punk ‘Blown Away’ Following Meeting With WWE Hall Of Famer WWE

On the July 29 episode of WWE Raw, it was revealed that Jesse Ventura had been backstage at the Minnesota-based show.

Footage emerged of Ventura being greeted by Triple H who stated he was ‘honored to have one of the all-time greats back’.

With the WWE Hall of Famer being seen on television screens, the former Governor of Minnesota would go on to give his thanks to ‘Triple H and the whole WWE family’.

He would also namedrop CM Punk in a later message, sharing a photo of the pair of them together on social media.

During a recent appearance on the SI Media podcast, Punk reflected on his meeting with Ventura, saying:

“I saw Governor Ventura the other day. Absolutely 100 percent blown away.

“One of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me in my life is he tells me that he saw I came back — and he said, ‘The place must have changed. If Punk’s back, I’ll go back.'”

Having, like Ventura, gone through a tumultuous relationship with the company after their past WWE departures, Punk opened up on whether he influenced the return of The Body, stating:

“I can’t take credit for it, but I think a guy like me being back I think speaks volumes. Obviously it does.”

Ventura was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2004 although had a tense relationship for a number of years with the company after launching legal action in 1991 against the company.

The legal action stemmed from Ventura waiving his rights to royalties on WWF Home Video sales as he was led to believe he wouldn’t be entitled to royalties under his contract.

In 1991, he discovered this was not the case and launched a fraud lawsuit winning the case in federal court.

Ventura has recently revealed that he has been negotiating a Legends deal with the WWE.
