Details have emerged on another ‘disagreement’ involving CM Punk and AEW star, FTW Champion Jack Perry.
Fightful Select reports that Punk and Jack Perry had words about a segment which Perry was set to film at an early Collision taping in Canada.
The report noted that those on the side of Punk stated that Perry wanted to use real glass for a segment, but Punk was of the belief that Perry wanted to do this so he wouldn’t have to come to work the following week – it’s unclear whether that’s because of it being dangerous, or just because Perry was trying to get ahead of schedule.
Those on Punk’s side reportedly told Fightful that Perry was going against production, doctors, and Tony Schiavone, who had all advised Perry not to smash real glass due to it being a safety hazard.
When word of this disagreement made its way to the AEW locker room, it was reportedly referred to as an “argument”, but the claim from Punk’s side is that he was asked to step in and “calmly” told Perry that “they don’t do that on Saturdays”, and Perry could “stay on Wednesdays” if he didn’t like it.
From Punk’s point of view, Perry was throwing a “temper tantrum” about the spot not being cleared.
There are no further details on how the issue concluded other than several people agreed with Punk’s stance.
