An update has emerged on Drew McIntyre following reports that he was legitimately upset after CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series 2023.
McIntyre was in action during the WarGames main event of Saturday’s (November 25) show, teaming with Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor in a losing effort against Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and Randy Orton.
Just before the show went off the air, CM Punk entered the arena, marking the first time Punk had made his entrance at a WWE premium live event since Royal Rumble 2014.
It was later reported by PWInsider that McIntyre “stormed out of the ring” after the end of WarGames, and “stormed into the back, slammed his locker room door, threw on a hoodie and immediately left the Allstate Arena”.
At the time, it was unknown if McIntyre’s actions were related to Punk or if he even knew about his return (he left before Punk came out), but it was reported after that the talents in the WarGames match, including McIntyre, were told about Punk’s arrival beforehand.
In a new update, Fightful Select reports that Drew McIntyre was legitimately upset, but about things ‘broader than CM Punk’. For the latest on his contract status, click here.
An update has also emerged on a WWE incident involving CM Punk and Seth Rollins, which you can read more about right here.
We will keep you posted with any further updates.
