At Saturday’s Progress Coast to Coast show in Chicago, CM Punk’s name was heavily booed when mentioned on the microphone. This is a major turnaround from the thunderous chants he used to elicit as it appears wrestling fans have gone sour on the talent.
In Punk’s hometown, the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’s name was mud amongst locals with recitals of “Colt Cabana” instead echoing throughout the arena.
This comes in the wake of Cabana suing his former best friend for $1 million in legal fees stemming from their court case against WWE doctor Chris Amman. According to Colt, the former WWE Champion was meant to pay his legal fees but never weighed in with the settlement.
If this is now the reaction CM Punk gets, then maybe a much speculated appearance at All In on September 1 isn’t a wise idea after all.
WrestleTalk would like to know your opinion on this latest development in the CM Punk saga. Are the Chicago faithful correct to jeer their hometown hero? Maybe you believe the entire situation has all been blown out of proportion? And would you like to see Punk at All In? You can tell us today on Twitter and Discord.
