CM Punk Reacts To FTR Staying With AEW After Tag Title Win

CM Punk Reacts To FTR Staying With AEW After Tag Title Win AEW

Despite still technically being a part of the active AEW roster CM Punk has not appeared on TV since All Out on September 4 2022.

With the All Out media scrum incident, a serious triceps tear and his latest social media outburst all leaving Punk’s AEW future unclear, he does at least have two people within the company that will welcome him back with open arms.

That being the new AEW Tag Team Champions Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler – FTR.

CM Punk and FTR famously grew to become close friends during their time working together, with nothing changing in the time since Punk’s absence, posting pictures together as recently as last week.

While FTR’s AEW future was also in doubt for a long time, with their contracts said to be up in April, a definitive answer was given on last night’s April 6 AEW Dynamite, where Dax and Cash defeated The Gunns in a title vs AEW career match.

While that match in particular had a lot of fans’ eyes on it, it seems that Punk was also keeping an eye on how his friends got on, posting to his Instagram story following FTR’s victory.

Pictured below, Punk would post a picture of the emotional closing scene that saw FTR celebrate alongside Mark Briscoe with their newly earned championship belts.

FTR and The Briscoes famously had an epic trilogy of matches in ROH in 2022, prior to Jay’s tragic passing on January 17.

While FTR’s future is with AEW, Punk’s potential return lies firmly in doubt following his Instagram rant against Dave Meltzer, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and even Tony Khan.
