Booker T Comments On Possibility Of CM Punk Returning To WWE AEW

Booker T has commented on the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE now that his honeymoon phase with AEW appears to be over.

Massive chaos erupted after the AEW All Out media scrum during which CM Punk went on a expletive filled rant directed at Colt Cabana, Hangman Adam Page, MJF and AEW EVPs The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

Now Booker T has commented on whether or not CM Punk might return to WWE given the change of leadership and now that things are seemingly soured in AEW.

Speaking to Wrestling Inc., Booker T said:

“CM Punk has definitely been very polarizing as far as comments about WWE ever since he’s left. So, I think it would be hard, it would be really hard for him just to swallow his pride and go back to that, that monster, that demon that created a lot of these problems that he thinks he has. I think it would be hard on both sides.”

On Punk’s previous light forray back into the WWE fray, Booker attributed it more to the network partner than to WWE.

Elaborating, Booker T said:

“I think FOX really wanted him there. With the ‘SmackDown’ show and FOX being a huge part of that they really wanted to see Punk back in the WWE, but I just think it was a deal that was just really, really hard to make.”

Booker T went on to add his commentary that it isn’t easy to return to performing at a high level at CM Punk’s age as evidenced by his repeated injuries since returning to in-ring competition.

CM Punk is reportedly both injured and potentially suspended by All Elite Wrestling for his role in the backstage fracas that occurred after AEW All Out.

A complete third party investigation of the events is reportedly underway.
