AEW star CM Punk has spoken about his stage dives off the entrance ramp into the crowd, and how security reacts to him doing it.
Punk’s dives have become a popular part of his ring entrance after he did it for his big return and debut in Chicago on the August 20 episode of Rampage.
However, it sounds like the security team aren’t exactly the biggest fans of him doing it, as on the latest AEW Unrestricted podcast, he said:
“Yeah they’ve talked to me about it. They lean towards trying to tell me not to do it, but they’re also like, ‘Is this gonna be a thing? Can we maybe…’, and I go, ‘Guys, I don’t know, I just go out there’. Last time I did it, in New Jersey, there was this dude who was just like, ‘I’m gonna catch you’ so I was like, ‘Okay that’s good to know’, so I did it. It’s all spur of the moment, it really is, honestly.”

CM Punk was actually banned from doing a stage dive in New York at Arthur Ashe Stadium due to the rules in the state.
