CM Punk Shares Opinion On Current WWE Product

CM Punk has shared his opinion on the current WWE product, following rumors that he’ll soon appear onscreen for All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

CM Punk hasn’t wrestled an official bout since the 2014 Royal Rumble match. The former WWE Champion has admitted that the current product isn’t to his personal taste.

Speaking on the  Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Punk noted that he had to keep up to date with WWE for his previous FOX analyst role.

Remaining diplomatic, Punk said:

“No, I had to watch it a little bit when I was an analyst for FOX,” Punk said. “But I mean… hmm, how do I say this diplomatically? Um, no, I think they’ve got some people who are super awesome and great in the ring, but you know, nothing grabs me to get me to want to watch.”

“I’m getting ‘a little long in the tooth’ now, and I would much rather uplift and show love to things I like than to tear anything down. You know, you can’t say that what they’re doing is wrong. They are the most profitable they’ve ever been since their inception, so who am I to say… you know what I mean? Like… it’s ice cream, there’s 31,000 flavors, everybody gets their favorite, I just don’t like vanilla.”

Following reports that Punk is preparing for his wrestling return, it has been speculated that he will debut for AEW on the August 20 episode of Rampage.

AEW star Malakai Black has confessed that he genuinely doesn’t know if the rumors are true, but stated that there’s currently a buzz in the locker room because of the speculation.
