CM Punk gave a shout out to WWE’s newest tag team the Motor City Machine Guns during last night’s Cage Fighting Fury Championship 137 event (October 18).
Following his gruelling Hell in a Cell match with Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood, CM Punk returned to his duties at the CFFC commentary table, helping call the MMA promotion’s event in Philadelphia last night.
On the same night as CFFC 137, WWE SmackDown took place from Columbia, SC an event which saw the long-awaited debut of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley.
After Punk’s broadcast colleague made mention of fans in Detroit watching CFFC 137 on UFC Fight Pass, Punk gave a shoutout to Sabin and Shelley.
Punk said:
“There’s a little shoutout to my buddies the Motor City Machine Guns, they’re not gonna hear this”.
You can view footage of Punk’s comments down below.
While it remains to be seen whether Punk and the Motor City Machine Guns will share a WWE ring together in the near future, the duo have locked up with Punk in the past on several occasions on the independent scene prior to the Best in the World first signing with WWE in 2005.
