A promo on tonight’s (January 26) Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite saw CM Punk and MJF engage in a war of the words but finally, we have a date for their epic match-up.
After attempting to get MJF to meet him in the ring this week, CM Punk continued to challenge Friedman until he gave in and set their match-up for next week in Punk’s hometown, Chicago, Illinois.
By the end of the segment, MJF brought out his Pinnacle posse, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) Shawn Spears, and Wardlow who attacked Punk in the ring with MJF ordering Wardlow to powerbomb Punk which he trepidatiously executed.
MJF continued his quest to humiliate Punk, sitting on his chest in the middle of the ring to end the segment.
Also announced for next week’s February 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, a Texas Death Match between AEW World Champion ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and challenger Lance Archer for the championship.
