CM Punk teamed up with a past rival at WWE’s Holiday Tour live event in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, December 28.
Saturday night was a busy one for wrestling in Orlando, Florida as AEW held their Worlds End pay-per-view at the Addition Financial Arena, while WWE held a Holiday Tour show at the Kia Center.
But that wasn’t the only WWE event to take place, as the company also held another Holiday Tour event in Baltimore, MD, a show featuring the likes of World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins and LA Knight among many more.
Following matches in New York and Pittsburgh the prior two nights, CM Punk competed once again at this event at the CFG Bank Arena, but unlike those prior events he wouldn’t be competing in single competition.
Instead Punk teamed with historic rival from his first WWE run – Rey Mysterio, as the pair faced off with none other than The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods).
This was Punk and Mysterio’s first time competing in a match together since the 2014 Royal Rumble and their first time teaming together in a traditional tag team contest since 2009.
While relatively inexperienced as a team, the pair did have a well remembered feud in 2010, with one-on-one matches at WrestleMania 26, Extreme Rules and Over The Limit that year.
