CM Punk is back at it again. The man who has more fans that want to see him come back to wrestling than most wrestlers have fans these days has done a wonderful job of driving all of those fans crazy once again. They are all like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber. “So, you’re saying there’s a chance.”
Punk did a Q&A on Twitter and one fan asked him about a huge announcement he had talked about earlier in the year. Here is Punk’s response:
Nope! Gotta wait until mass gatherings are SAFE (not just allowed)

So, clearly Punk has something planned. With him, it could be anything from him starting his own MMA promotion to deciding he wants to give minor league hockey a shot. You just never know. But one thing you do know is a ton of people will want that announcement to involve him getting back in a wrestling ring.
It certainly doesn’t appear that it will happen at all and definitely not during the pandemic. Punk talked about being extra safe during the pandemic.
Wait another 6 months before I do anything.

Punk also shared his feelings on WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. When asked what he thought of Drew, his answer was “large and Scottish.”
However, this writer’s favorite reply was in response to a question about there being no huge stars in wrestling today. The fan asked if that was because he didn’t stick around long enough to put any young talent over.
He commented on the future stars he did put over:
I put over such young lions that are the future of the business like the undertaker, hhh, the rock, and brock lesnar! The future looks good!

Considering all of those wrestlers have wrestled a few times since Punk left WWE, you can’t argue with him. Several years later, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar were still big parts of WrestleMania in 2020. In fact, they were both in the main events of Night 1 and Night 2.
