WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of this week’s episode (May 16) of WWE Raw, with the company announcing on SmackDown that they had been indefinitely suspended.
The wrestling world has shown their support for Sasha and Naomi, including AEW star CM Punk, who took to Twitter to send a message to the world of wrestling following the incident.
He said:
Doesn’t matter if your opinion of your coworker is positive or negative. Stand with them. Because they’ll do the same thing to you and you’ll wish someone helped. Trust me. You’re expendable. Together you’re unstoppable.
Punk’s message was met with a polarising reaction, with everyone agreeing with Punk, but several fans claiming that Punk was not the right person to deliver the message, for one reason or another.
This seemed to include Punk’s AEW co-worker Miro, who reacted to Punk’s tweet with a laughing emoji.
Punk is set to challenge for the AEW World Championship at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view next Sunday.
