CM Punk has commented on his matches in All Elite Wrestling, believing that he ‘wasted matches’ on people in the company.
CM Punk spent two years in AEW, returning to wrestling back on August 20, 2021 at the AEW Rampage First Dance show in Chicago’s United Center.
Two years and as many backstage incidents later, and Punk would be fired from AEW in September 2023, with him later returning to WWE at Survivor Series last year.
During his time in AEW, Punk was part of a number of memorable rivalries, including with MJF, Eddie Kingston, Adam Page and Jon Moxley, though there were a number of major rivalries for Punk we never got to witness, such as feuds with Kenny Omega and the Elite.
Speaking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Punk was asked if there were any people in AEW that he didn’t get to tell a story with that he didn’t get to.
Punk responded, saying that he believes he ‘wasted matches’ on some people in the company, saying:
“No. I feel like I wasted some matches on some people, for sure. That is what it is. Some people understand the business and some people don’t. I think everybody here understands the business.”
