CM Punk Shares ‘Honest’ Health Update Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam WWE

Former WWE Champion CM Punk has shared an honest health update ahead of his return from injury at Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam event.

Punk will make his in-ring comeback at the August 3 SummerSlam premium live event, when he will face off against Drew McIntyre.

The former WWE Champion has been out of action since January’s Royal Rumble match, during which he suffered a torn tricep injury.

During an interview shared to WWE’s YouTube channel, Punk stated that his surgically repaired arm feels great, but pointed out that he’s not in his physical prime anymore.

Addressing his current status, CM Punk said:

“I’ll be honest, you talk about the grey in my beard. This arm is brand new. Everything else? (shrugs) You know.

“Athletes in their later years are like sports cars, sometimes you blow a tire and replace the tire. Sometimes you need an engine overhaul. We’re not there yet, but I’m cleared to compete and my heart is the same as it ever was.

“You know I’m coming to fight, I don’t care about a pro-wrestling match, I don’t care about referees, I don’t care about the bell, I’m coming to get my pound of flesh.”
