CM Punk WWE Retirement Update After John Cena

CM Punk WWE Retirement Update After John Cena WWE

CM Punk has provided an update on his own WWE retirement after John Cena had his final match tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Punk was one of the names who appeared on the WWE post-show panel to share his thoughts after the show.

Big E mentioned that Punk had made mention of his own career being nearer the end than the beginning, and asked Punk if he wanted a similar event for his own career.

Punk said he didn’t have an answer and made it clear that he does not have plans to retire anytime soon.

He explained:

“When I make allusions to the end of whatever my career is going to look like, it’s not because I feel like I’m there.

“It’s because I look back at the entirety of my career and there is a lot more road behind me than there is in front of me.

“Trust me, I am the champion for a reason and I’m here to stay and nobody’s going to change that.

Commenting on Cena’s WWE retirement tour as a whole, Punk said:

“He was consistently John. And I mean that he did his best at the time with what he was given.

“This business is full of people who will argue or and sometimes dumb themselves out of a position.

“John has always taken what the task was and made it better and knocked it out of the park and that’s admirable.

“To watch him go into the sunset with such class and dignity is such a rare thing.”
