With CM Punk having a close relationship with WWE NXT, he was recently asked which stars he’d pick for a potential faction.
Previously the leader of the Straight Edge Society, Punk was accompanied by Luke Gallows, Joey Mercury and Serena from November 2009 to September 2010.
In an interview with KTSM, Punk was recently asked about bringing the faction back for WWE NXT.
Musing the possibilities of a rebirth for the cult-like faction, Punk said:
“I don’t want to beat a dead horse, so it would have to be some sort of a variation on the Straight Edge Society.
“Maybe something a little bit similar, maybe named different.”
As for a potential member of the hypothetical CM Punk-led faction, Punk stated:
“I think the number one with a bullet to be with me in some form of a stable would be Oba [Femi.]”
Femi is the current NXT North American Champion having signed with WWE in December 2021.
Punk has recently discussed the importance of NXT in the broader landscape of WWE.
Shawn Michaels has also suggested that Punk could succeed him as the overseer of WWE NXT.
