The situation between CM Punk and AEW has become rather confusing following the post-show media scrum at AEW All Out.
Since then, reports have emerged that point to Punk effectively being done with the company.
The last word was that AEW and Punk were holding out for a contract buy out, but they have yet to agree to terms and he remains under contract to AEW.
Following the situation, the idea of a potential WWE return for Punk seems not impossible.
AEW were reportedly holding up on a non-compete clause for Punk, implying the idea of him heading back to WWE has also crossed the mind of Tony Khan.
Well, Punk appeared to add more fuel to the fire today, taking to his Instagram story to share a picture of himself during his WWE days.
This fire does indeed burn, always.
