CM Punk Next WWE World Heavyweight Championship Challenger Confirmed WWE

The next challenger for WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and his title has been revealed on today’s Raw.

Last week, Punk retained the World Heavyweight Title against Bron Breakker in the Raw main event.

On today’s show in Dusseldorf, Germany, Punk made his way out to the ring and previewed the upcoming Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber events ahead of April’s WrestleMania, saying “the road to WrestleMania goes through me.”

Punk pointed out that the winners of those Rumble and Chamber matches will be choosing between him and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre to challenge at Mania.

However, he was cut off by Finn Balor, who came out said that he doesn’t want to wait until the Rumble or Chamber as Punk had previously named him as somebody he wanted to face.

Punk suggested having the match “right here, right now” in Dusseldorf, but Balor had other ideas.

Next week’s WWE Raw takes place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with Balor being from Bray, County Wicklow in the Republic of Ireland.

Balor challenged Punk to a championship match next week so he can win the title on Irish soil – Punk accepted the challenge, so the match is set for next week.
