Cody Leads Rally Cry For AEW

Cody Rhodes took to Twitter today to rally the AEW wrestlers.  Cody posted an #IAMAEW statement hyping the upcoming AEW on TNT debut on October 2, 2019.

Cody sites some independent wrestlers and companies known for breaking the mold as paving the way for All Elite Wrestling.  He says companies like PWG helped ignite the passion for alternatives to WWE.

He thanks Colt Cabana and The Young Bucks for proving you don’t need billion dollar companies to back you to build a brand.  He even says he received the ultimate education from guys like John Cena, Vince McMahon, Arn Anderson, and Dean Malenko.

He then goes on to claim AEW is for everyone.  Although we haven’t seen the TV show, it’s hard to argue that AEW doesn’t have some variety to their roster and shows they’ve held.

They have Sonny Kiss and Nyla Rose.  Those are definitely two wrestlers who wouldn’t get air time under Vince, or if they did they would be exploited.

However, there’s the old adage about you can’t please everyone all the time. It will be interesting to see how Cody, Khan, Omega and The Young Buck merge all these different styles.

How will the sports like presentation merge with acts like Orange Cassidy and Jimmy Havoc?  Only time will tell, but we’ll get the first glimpse of how AEW’s vision will play out next Wednesday.
