AEW executive vice president and TNT Champion Cody has responded to homphobic comments made towards his next challenger Sonny Kiss.
Kiss challenges Cody for the title on this coming Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, which is being branded as the Fight for the Fallen as the promotion has launched initiatives in support of COVID-19 response.
Cody has taken to Twitter to respond to a homophobic reply on one of his tweets promoting the match that was made against Kiss, writing:
This is terrible. And you’re not worth the signal boost.
But I’ll make this clear to fans worldwide.
If you have a problem with a gay man receiving a title shot, you can kiss my ass.
I’m proud to share the ring with Sonny.
Homophobia, or discrimination in any form, has no place in wrestling, nor does it have a place anywhere in society.
Many wrestlers and wrestling personalities have rightfully supported Cody’s comments, and WrestleTalk.com joins them in doing so.
