WWE released a large number of stars just a couple weeks ago. As could be expected, speculation about which stars will go to AEW has been running rampant. Now, thanks to Cody, we know one person who won’t be showing up on Dynamite.
During a recent Instagram Q&A session, he revealed that the promotion is not interested in signing Heath Slater.
“Nope! No on Heath Slater.”
That is not to say that no WWE stars will be hired by AEW, but Slater will have to find a different way to feed his numerous children. Slater was with WWE for fourteen years, including ten years on the main roster. He was most famously part of the Nexus stable and would become a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion.
Aside from Slater, Jim Ross has said that signing Rusev should be a priority for AEW. Rusev was also among those released by WWE two weeks ago.
All Elite Wrestling recently signed the likes of Lance Archer, Brodie Lee, and Matt Hardy. Two of which came from WWE. It is worth noting that AEW has made a point to say they are not interested in signing a large number of WWE stars.
