What Happened With Cody Rhodes After WWE SmackDown March 3 WWE

Here’s what happened with Cody Rhodes after this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown went off the air.

On the March 3 show, Cody confronted his WrestleMania 39 opponent Roman Reigns in the ring for the first time ahead of their upcoming WWE Undisputed Universal Championship bout.

After Cody explained that he’s used to defying the odds, briefly referencing All In, Reigns stated that if there’s anything that Cody’s late father Dusty Rhodes didn’t teach him, the Tribal Chief will.

This appearance marked Cody’s first SmackDown TV appearance in seven years. While Rhodes didn’t wrestle during the episode, he was in action after the cameras stopped rolling.

In the final dark match of the evening, Cody faced off against Finn Balor in singles action. The former AEW EVP defeated the Judgment Day member, before cutting a promo for the live crowd.

Cody noted that the Capital One Center in Washington DC is very special to him, before stating that he hopes to leave WrestleMania 39 with the undisputed title.

The American Nightmare hasn’t lost a match since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022.
