Current WWE star but former AEW original, Cody Rhodes has spoken out about the impact he and his wife Brandi Rhodes had on AEW.
In fact, Cody Rhodes says that without he or Brandi Rhodes, it wouldn’t even exist.
When a fan Tweeted to Cody that “people severely underestimate the importance of Cody Rhodes in getting AEW started,” Rhodes actually replied.
Cody Rhodes wrote in response:
“Facts are all out there to see…without Brandi or I it wouldn’t exist. Look no further than some of the infrastructure in place or even half the names of the events. Tony, Bucks, Kenny, Jericho, Dana, Hang…pioneers. I’ve moved on to the next stage for me, but beautiful memories.”
Cody Rhodes remains out of action after becoming injured shortly after his WWE return at WrestleMania 38.
While Cody Rhodes free agency may seem like a lifetime ago, it was in fact during this year.
With major developments within WWE since Rhodes has been out of action including Vince McMahon retiring and Triple H becoming the Head of Creative, it certainly is an interesting time in professional wrestling!
Where Cody Rhodes fits into creative upon his return remains to be seen as he continues to be out with injury.
