Cody Rhodes Explains Passing ‘Finish The Story’ To Sami Zayn WWE

WWE Star Cody Rhodes has described the meaning of the phrase ‘finish the story’ ahead of his massive WrestleMania 39 match against Roman Reigns.

As WWE star Cody Rhodes heads towards the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania 39 for the WWE Undisputed World Championships, he has elaborated on what he means when he says he hopes to ‘finish the story’.

In an interview with Amy Nemmity of WrestleJoy, Cody Rhodes explained:

“I didn’t notice the grandeur of this story until I examined every part of it in the last few months in terms of really looking at every piece of it. For a long time, I was unhappy, so I left, bet on myself, found amazing partners, bet on myself again, and managed to create magic. Then the story added up to being so much more.”

“What does finishing the story really mean? Does it mean winning the title? Does it mean what happens potentially if I do win the title? Does it mean not winning? What does finishing the story mean? I know how many years are on my contract, and I know how many years I want to do this. That’s why I wanted to pass it to Sami [Zayn] in Barclays. I am so glad that finish the story exists, because it’s not just descriptive of me.”

Rhodes is set to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at night two of WrestleMania 39.

The American Nightmare recently shared images of his WrestleMania attire, including a belt bearing the names of the independent wrestling companies for which has worked between his departure from WWE in 2016 and his return in 2022.
