Cody Rhodes Believes The Fans Are The Face Of AEW AEW

Cody Rhodes has responded to a claim that he was the face of AEW, following his exit from the company.

AEW announced the departures of Cody & Brandi Rhodes on February 15. The news came as a shock to most of the wrestling world, as Rhodes was a company EVP who had been featured prominently on AEW TV since the promotion’s early days.

On Twitter, a user speculated about Rhodes’ future, arguing that he was the face of AEW. Rhodes replied, believing himself lucky to carry the AEW baton for several years.

Rhodes tweeted:

“♥️ I’ll let you in on a little secret, wrestling fans are the face of it all – I was lucky to carry the baton for several years, and I am incredibly proud of the changes we made for the industry and livelihood of wrestlers the world over. A great time, stuff for the history books”

Diamond Dallas Page recently revealed what Cody told him about his AEW exit days before the announcement, which you can read about at this link.
