WWE star Cody Rhodes has shared his honest thoughts on AEW Revolution 2023, naming the stars who impressed him on the show.
On March 5, AEW held its first pay-per-view of the year, Revolution.
Speaking on the Good Karma Wrestling podcast, Rhodes confirmed that he has watched highlights from the show.
Noting that he’s proud of all of his ‘kids’, the former AEW EVP said:
“I thought Ricky (Starks) did great, really proud of him. Chris Jericho is an absolute legend, he’s more than a legend, he’s Chris Jericho. For Ricky to be able to deal with that and handle that in the way he did, very proud of Ricky.
“Very proud of Julia (Hart), proud of Malakai (Black) actually because he was somebody that I loved our interactions with and I wanted to see more of that Malakai and it’s been a minute.
“And then all my other kids, I’m not going to name them because I’m not going to put him over.
“All my other kids, one of them was out there in the main event, we don’t have to be best friends or anything but just very proud of their growth and their continued growth.”
Ricky Starks notably defeated Chris Jericho in singles action in the opening match of the show.
Later during the event, Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews and Brody King (with Julia Hart) defeated Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks for the AEW Trios Title.
The main event of the show saw MJF best Bryan Danielson during sudden death following a 60 minute ironman match to retain his AEW World Championship.
Rhodes is currently preparing for a major match, with the Royal Rumble winner slated to challenge for Roman Reigns’ WWE Undisputed Universal Title in the main event of WrestleMania 39.
The former AEW EVP has opened up about the pressure he’s currently feeling, which you can read more about right here.
