The plans to determine the next number one contender for Cody Rhodes’ WWE Championship have been revealed.
Cody Rhodes last defended his WWE Championship at the WWE Wrestlepalooza event in Indianapolis on September 20, where he defeated Drew McIntyre in the show’s main event.
Cody will face off against World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel tomorrow in Perth, with the winner becoming the Crown Jewel Champion.
With Cody preoccupied with Rollins, the plans to determine who the next challenger will be for Cody’s WWE Championship have now been revealed.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cody is currently planned to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at Survivor Series in San Diego next month.
Cody will defend the championship against either Drew McIntyre or Jacob Fatu, with a number one contender’s match between the two men currently set for the November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City.
A match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre has been announced for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown without the number one contenders stipulation.
