Cody Rhodes Comments On Pressure Surrounding WrestleMania 39 Match

Cody Rhodes has opened up about the pressure of headlining WrestleMania 39, ahead of his upcoming title match.

At the April event, the Royal Rumble winner will challenge for Roman Reigns’ WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

Speaking on WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, Cody noted that he hasn’t discussed his upcoming WrestleMania main event with many around him.

Noting that he might open up about the situation to his brother Dustin Rhodes soon, Cody said:

“Yeah, Dustin and I, we really just speak about everything else because my dad’s documentary comes out on the 26th, the Superstar Sunday before WrestleMania. That’s something we’re all excited to see and see his foundation kicked off that way.

“But yeah, it’s not really something I’ve talked to him about what I’m feeling only because it’s—I don’t know. I’ve talked to DDP a little bit about how I’m feeling.

“Even in that, this is a moment no one in my circle has never experienced, and I kind of want to just experience it all, I guess, selfishly myself.

“I also don’t want to beat it over anyone’s head, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m in the main event of WrestleMania.’ Because to me, as wonderful as that is, it doesn’t fully matter to me unless I win. And that’s a lot of pressure.

“It might be good to talk to Dustin more because Dustin’s a very reasonable and down to earth and wonderful person.

“I know he’ll be one of the only phone calls I make the day before just because you know the family I have, and I want that love and support and want to know what they’re thinking.”
