WWE’s Corey Graves has argued that Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell 2022 was the best match of the year.
Rhodes and Rollins notably clashed in the main event of the June 5 premium live event, inside the Hell in a Cell cage.
This was the third match of their trilogy, following their singles bouts at WrestleMania 38 in April and WrestleMania Backlash in May.
Rhodes competed with a completely torn pectoral muscle, before having surgery in the following week.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Graves praised both performers for their work, noting:
“Anyone arguing with me, you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. This was as close to perfect as anything gets.
“Hell in a Cell, to me, was the greatest match of the trilogy.
“The rivalry, the promos back and forth, the vitriol between Rollins and Rhodes, the backstory—Everything about it to me was a perfect sports entertainment story in the year 2022.”
Rhodes recently shared his honest thoughts on the possibility of a fourth bout against Rollins, which you can read more about right here.
It is currently unclear when Rhodes will be ready to return to the ring.
