Poor Cody Rhodes is really trying to be nice to everyone, but unfortunately it seems the majority of AEW fans simply won’t rest until he’s made that long-desired heel turn.
Well, it seems Cody may have teased that heel turn after last night’s AEW Dynamite went off the air.
In the main event of the show, Cody Rhodes teamed with PAC and the Lucha Brothers to take on Malakai Black, Andrade El Idolo, and FTR. During the match, Cody, as he does most matches, threw his weight belt into the crowd. Unfortunately for him however, the crowd didn’t really want it, so they threw it back.
Later in the same match, Cody threw the belt into the crowd once again, and thankfully this time it stayed where it was thrown.
Once the show went off the air, Cody exited via the ramp as usual, but briefly teased exiting through the “heel” entrance tunnel, something he has never done before.
AEW has made a big deal out of the symbolism of the heel and babyface entrance tunnels, so this could well be the first sign that Cody really is going to turn heel, despite previously promising he would always be a babyface.
