Cody Rhodes Competes In Title Match After WWE SmackDown March 17 WWE

Ahead of his WrestleMania main event, Cody Rhodes challenged for another WWE title after Friday’s edition of SmackDown.

On the March 17 show, Rhodes used his segment to attempt to get Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to set aside their differences.

Later on in the show, Rhodes was shown smiling backstage, when Kevin Owens saved Zayn from an Uso beatdown, and hugged his former best-friend.

After the cameras stopped rolling, an interesting title bout took place just for the Kansas City, Missouri crowd.

In the dark match, Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes challenged for Austin Theory’s US Championship.

The bout ultimately ended via disqualification, following interference by the Bloodline. Zayn and Owens made the save, shortly after their reunion during the live show.

It would’ve been surprising if this match had a definitive finish, with both Rhodes and Theory preparing for huge matches at WrestleMania 39.

During the April 1-2 event, Theory will defend his US Title against John Cena in a bout that has been teased for months.

Rhodes is set to headline WrestleMania and challenge for Roman Reigns WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

An AEW star has now reacted to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s WWE TV reunion, which you can read more about right here.
