WWE star Cody Rhodes has commented on a recent unscripted moment that took place between himself and Brock Lesnar.
On the edition of Raw following WrestleMania 39, Lesnar attacked Rhodes, leading to a multi-month feud between the duo.
With Rhodes defeating Lesnar at Backlash and Lesnar tying the score at Night of Champions, everything led to one final singles match at SummerSlam, which Rhodes ultimately won.
Following the bout, Lesnar re-entered the ring and took his gloves off, before embracing Rhodes and lifting his arm in a show of respect.
In the post-show press conference, Triple H revealed that this moment was completely unplanned, a notion which was later corroborated by several sources.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Rhodes noted that he thought that he throught that Lesnar was going to attack him in that moment.
Discussing his rivalry with The Beast, Rhodes said:
“The significance of 3 different matches with one of the absolute greatest of all time. The most decorated combat sport athlete in the world. It hasn’t set in. It hasn’t.
“You know, the fact that when he was taking his gloves off, looking at me, I thought for sure one’s gonna connect.
“I was very convinced that the fight wasn’t over.”
With Lesnar yet to make his WWE return following this loss, it has been speculated that he could make a return to the UFC.
UFC President Dana White has now commented on the possibility of Lesnar stepping back into the octagon, which you can read more about right here.
