Cody Rhodes Reveals WWE Dream Opponent WWE

Cody Rhodes took part in a panel Q&A after WrestleMania 38 Sunday, one day removed from his WWE return on Saturday.

Rhodes picked up the win over Seth Rollins in many people’s pick for the best match of the event, but if Rhodes has his way, that’ll be far from his only memorable outing.

During the panel, Rhodes named one particular dream opponent in WWE, that being AJ Styles.

The only time Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles have ever been in the same match was the 2016 Royal Rumble, which was Styles’ WWE debut, and Rhodes’ final Rumble before his WWE departure. And even then, he was Stardust, so it doesn’t really count does it?

There’s obviously a lot of stuff that could be brought up if the two were to feud, notably their times in Bullet Club and the many similarities and differences between their paths to get where they are today. The question is whether WWE would want to bring that up.

Nonetheless, it’s a match Rhodes wants to happen, and it definitely seems like a possibility considering they’re both on the Raw brand.

While Rhodes beat Rollins on WrestleMania Saturday, AJ Styles was beaten by Edge on WrestleMania Sunday off the back of a distraction from Damian Priest, who is now aligned with Edge in what looks to be the first move of a new faction being built with Edge as the leader.

Rhodes also made a point of mentioning during the panel that Roman Reigns is his pick for the current best wrestler in the world, and he has his eyes on a championship match with Reigns at some point.
