The WWE return date of former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appears to have been revealed, following his major title loss.

Cody Rhodes hasn’t appeared for WWE since competing in the main event of WrestleMania 41.

With John Cena defeating Rhodes to become a record 17-time world champion, there has been a lot of speculation about what’s next for the American Nightmare.

Following a report indicating that Rhodes has been enjoying some time off with his family, a new update has potentially revealed when we will next see the popular star in a WWE ring.

Cody Rhodes is now being advertised for the May 16 SmackDown episode. This is the first episode of SmackDown set to take place after the May 10 Backlash Premium Live Event.

Cody Rhodes is also listed as a “Featured Superstar” for the show, alongside Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, Bianca Belair, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.

It’s worth noting that Rhodes was listed as a featured star for the post-WrestleMania SmackDown episode on April 25, so it is possible that plans could change.

The WWE Championship will next be defended at WWE Backlash, with John Cena set to defend the gold against Randy Orton.
